Applications & Uses of Tube & Pipe Fittings

Tube and pipe fittings are important parts of piping systems, used to connect, control, and direct fluid flow. They help create leak-proof and reliable connections, ensuring smooth operation across various industrial applications.

These fittings are commonly used in oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and power industries. Made from durable materials like stainless steel, they can handle high pressure, temperature, and corrosion.

Available in different sizes and types, tube and pipe fittings are easy to install, long-lasting, and suitable for both small and large piping systems. They are essential for safe and efficient fluid handling in any setup.

Tube & Pipe Fittings FAQ's

Find simple answers to common questions about tube and pipe fittings—what they are, what materials they are made of, and how to select the best fittings to suit your needs.

When selecting a tube fitting, evaluate the tubing’s material, diameter, wall thickness, operating pressure, temperature limits, and the environment where it will be used. Make sure the fitting material is compatible with the tubing to ensure a secure and reliable connection.

Common materials include stainless steel, carbon steel, brass, and copper. The choice depends on factors like corrosion resistance, pressure requirements, and the type of fluid being transported.

Keep fittings in a clean, dry place, away from dust and corrosive chemicals to maintain their quality until installation.

It depends on the brand. Some fittings work with others, but you should always check with the manufacturer to make sure they fit well and don’t leak. If you’re unsure, call us anytime—we’re here to help you choose the right fittings!

Tube fittings connect tubes, which are measured by outside diameter and wall thickness, while pipe fittings connect pipes, which are measured by nominal pipe size. Tubes are typically used in high-pressure systems, while pipes are used for fluid distribution.

Weld Neck Flanges

Welding neck flanges have a hub on the backside of the flange taper matching the pipe to be welded. The inside diameter of the flange is bored to match the mating pipe. This arrangement avoids turbulence in flow and prevents erosion. Stress is distributed well and there is no restriction of flow.
